Griffiths Security Ltd, incorporating John Woods Locksmiths, is a family owned locksmith company and we are the latest company to work out of what is reputed to be the oldest locksmiths’ shop in Britain. There are invoices for keys and locks for the castle dating back to the 16th Century and we can still provide the same service today!
Owned by 3 brothers; Simon, Chris and Richard Griffiths the company offers a full locksmiths’ service with a retail shop offering; a professional key cutting service; a full range of safes, locks and security hardware; window grilles and shutters; as well as a comprehensive range of handles and door furniture. We can supply and fit any of the products we sell and all our on-site locksmiths are CRB checked and qualified to give you peace of mind.
The company is a Trade Division Member of the Master Locksmiths’ Association which means we have been inspected and vetted to ensure the quality of work is what you would expect from a professional locksmith company.
The 3 directors have over 90 years’ combined experience in the locksmiths’ industry and our shop manager, Janet, has over worked in the same premises for over 30 years so you can be sure we know what we’re talking about!

We truly recommend Using Griffiths if you need any locksmith work doing.
Very helpful and well priced compared to others.
The locksmith (Tom was his name) fixed our front door replacing the mechanism and then even serviced a couple of windows and our back door.
Tom is a real credit to this company, he was very friendly, professional and very helpful

graham joy1 StarWe waited nearly three working weeks for a quotation, which we never received; the “senior incompetent” had gone on holiday after taking my instructions. We were then told on three separate occasions that we would be receiving a quotation from Tom, then Richard and finally Simon who had just returned from holiday. As I complained about this delay asking if :-
“they didn’t want the business or was it just gross incompetence”
The response I finally received from Simon, the senior incompetent, was to virtue signal, showing utter arrogance by accusing me of “being vexatious and that they have a zero tolerance policy of aggression and abuse” I can only assume that was how my texted complaint was received.
The zero tolerance is of course being called out for an unprofessional response, incompetence and for the zero customer service. A total and utter waste of time.Thursday 17th June 2021
